An installation

This piece is an installation using Arduino and Processing that takes the user through a simulation of a U.S. customs kiosk.

The project touches on the effect of the travel ban, but further than just the ban, I set out to provide commentary on the different experiences of people after they enter the United States based on the color of their skin.

User Testing

To ensure the most effective simulation, I ran user testing to see how light and shadows affected the color value reading of the computer.  This was also to find the most accurate RGB value to set as the mid-tone.

Every user of the installation was able to walk away with a physical receipt that hopefully will be a reminder of the reality many in the U.S. have been living through.
